How To Get Rid of Bare Patches in Your Grass

by Jeff Ronhaar
Bare patches. Ankle twisting lumps and holes. Random healthy tufts of grass surrounded by weeds and dandelions... Does this sound like your lawn? Believe us, we've seen it all.

Over the years, we have met with many clients who are very concerned about the condition of their lawn. Caring for lawns is how it all began here at Jeff's Outdoor!

One of the first steps to creating a healthy lawn is to properly aerate it.  All those lumps and bare patches are caused by soil that is packed down over time. As the soil gets packed down, it becomes so hard that the grass roots can't fight through and the weeds take over.

Aeration relieves the compacted turf and allows air, water and nutrients to get down to the grass roots.  Spring and Fall are prime growth time for your lawn - this is the best time to aerate it.

Overseeding your turf with certified grass seed creates new growth and lusher lawns. Bare patches fill in and you're on your way to a healthier lawn.  Let us know if we can help.

Jeff Ronhaar, Head Coach at Jeff's Outdoor

Jeff's Outdoor began when an enterprising 14-year-old decided to turn paper route customers into lawncare customers. Jeff started with one mower and never looked back.

Jeff grew up always wanting his own way. He claims he rarely got it. That's debatable. He did get plenty of lessons about hard work, determination, and, above all, treating people right.
